Simaan Shini, OD received a Bachelors of Science from Texas A&M University in 1998 and a Doctor of Optometry degree from the University Eye Institute in Houston in 2004. Prior to achieving his Doctor of Optometry, he attended St. Thomas University for a Masters in Finance. He completed his two clinical training cycles at the renowned Karolinska St. Eriks Eye Hospital in Stockholm Sweden and Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.
Dr. Shini specializes in the treatment and management of ocular disease and he is a Texas licensed Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. Dr. Shini is also a member of the local chamber of commerce in College Station, Texas. He has been a guest speaker at Texas A&M and has practiced in College Station since 2004.
Dr. Shini’s practice focuses on family eye care, specialty contact lens services, and the treatment and management of ocular disease with particular focus on Dry Eye, Allergies, Glaucoma, and Diabetes. He is also proud to serve as an eye care referral center for the Texas A&M University Health System.
Born and raised in San Antonio, Dr. Reyes received his Bachelor of Science degree
from Texas A&M University in 1998 and obtained his optometry degree from the
University of Houston College of Optometry in 2004. Dr. Reyes served as an active-duty
Air Force optometrist from 2004-2007 and currently holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel
in the Air Force Reserves, where he serves as Chief of Optometry for the 489th
Aerospace Medicine Flight, Dyess AFB, Texas.
After working in The Woodlands, Plano, and San Antonio from 2007-2010, Dr. Reyes
moved to Belton in 2010 to join Belton Eye Care Center and later founded Enlighten
Vision & Eye Care in Copperas Cove in 2015. He then merged his practice with First
Eye Care/VIEW Killeen in 2018 prior to returning to Aggieland in January 2025 to join
Eye Trends College Station.
He is a member of the Texas Optometric Association, the American Optometric
Association, and the Armed Forces Optometric Society. Dr. Reyes is an avid Texas
A&M sports fan, enjoys fitness and spending time with family and friends. His wife,
Cristin, is a teacher, and both his daughter, Ashland, and son, Zach, attend Abilene
Christian University studying vocal music. Dr. Reyes is thrilled to join the local
community, offering expert vision care with a heartfelt commitment to you and your
family’s well-being.
