Additionally, we prescribe custom designed contact lenses for special needs as well as special eye problems.

Laser Vision

Laser Vision Correction is the most technologically advanced method available today for reducing your dependence on glasses and contact lenses. This outpatient procedure can correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism by gently reshaping the front surface of your eye with a cool, ultraviolet beam of laser light.

LASIK stands for Laser-Assisted Intrastromal Keratomileusis. In this procedure, a microkeratome first creates a thin cap of corneal tissue. The cap is folded back and the laser gently shapes the cornea, altering the shape of the eye. The corneal cap is then returned to the original position adhering quickly without stitches. Since only the edge aroung the corneal flap needs to heal, visual recovery is rapid and patients report little or no discomfort. LASIK treats low to very high levels of refractive errors.

Experience has shown us that vision correction using the excimer laser has been overwhelmingly successful in reducing myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism. While vision improves following the procedure, the degree of improvement may vary from individual to individual. Overall, 98% of patients achieve 20/40 vision or better after one procedure (i.e. before any enhancements), which means they can drive legally and play sports without their glasses.

It only takes seconds to correct your vision. Every person's situation is unique. To see if you are a candidate for LASIK surgery and receive a FREE LASIK consultation, call us at 979-694-2000 .

Our office co-manages with Eye Center of Texas for all your lasik needs. Please visit their website for more details at www.eyecenteroftexas.com.
